Progressive Republican Trolls

I caught some flak from a nice enough but seriously stupid person for my latest post about the GOP’s malfeasance toward the Tea Party.

I already blocked her (this was all on Facebook) so no direct quotes, but she called me a Progressive troll and hoped I would trot out some more modern cliches next time.  She contended that the term “RINO” is a lefty plant and seemed to think that criticism of the GOP from the right was not possible.  In her universe, the GOP is the sum total of conservatism.

How many more of these empty-headed Rockefeller Republicans are clogging up our party?  As I said, we have a far bigger task ahead of us than it seemed–the Republican Establishment and their fully domesticated voters think that the Tea Party is a problem, rather than a source of strength.

She pointed out that (apparently) 85% of Tea Party attendees are registered Republicans.  Well no kidding–they’re not fricking Democrats!  But that was part of her defense of the establishment, and her refutation of my anger with the GOP.  I must be a progressive troll, because the GOP is square with the Tea Party.

She needs to check with her Republican superiors–they don’t like the Tea Party very much.

It doesn’t matter to me that she was nice.  I have no more patience with stupid, and especially smarmy stupid.  Tea Party has no more stomach for patronizing GOP minions.
